Catchafire Rebrand
In October 2023, Catchafire underwent a rebrand led by Chicago-based design studio, Firebelly. With the new brand guidelines in hand, I was responsible for implementing the updated brand across various applications and platforms to ensure a cohesive brand experience.
This included creating a new illustration style inspired by elements from Catchafire’s new look, developing a flexible and robust grid and typography system for our sales materials (such as PDFs and slide presentations), auditing and establishing a clear and consistent transactional email system, and setting up core marketing blocks and tokens for Catchafire’s marketing site.

Catchafire needed a series of sales templates with a strong, flexible grid system and clear type hierarchy to streamline the creation and distribution of materials for sellers to send to prospective clients.

Catchafire needed an illustration style that complemented its refreshed visual identity. Inspired by the brand’s new photo collage illustrations and textures, I developed a cohesive system that feels warm, inviting, and seamlessly integrates into the new visual language.

Over the past 10 years, Catchafire’s transactional email design system was built across three different email platforms, resulting in an inconsistent voice, tone, and lack of a cohesive visual foundation.
After auditing over 130 emails, I redesigned more than 70 emails, incorporating our new brand voice from our marketing team, and establishing a simple visual system to create a more unified design language. In the first phase of this redesign, we intentionally avoided photography, illustrations, and recreated UI elements, as these had previously introduced unnecessary visual complexity and inconsistency.
The new email designs rely primarily on a strong typographic system and thoughtful spacing, ensuring that content remains well-organized, easy to read, and, most importantly, aligned with the functional purpose of transactional emails.

The Catchafire team needed clearly defined templates, modules, assets, and an overall design system for their new HubSpot marketing site. Leveraging the foundational marketing tokens and components from the authenticated site, I developed core templates and layouts that empowered the marketing team to rapidly build pages tailored to different audience types. The goal was to create a design system rooted in the brand and existing marketing components while ensuring the modules and blocks were repeatable, flexible, and easy to use.
